Hello im new here. I have 3 taz5s with rambo boards. One went kaput id like to upgrade it to an archim2 board. I dont run any addons just a hemera head. The printers are full openrail setups.
How easy would this upgrade be? Just download drunken octopus fw select standard and go?

I did the conversion for.a TAZ 6. It is straight forward if you are not in a hurry. The board is far superior to Rambo. You will likely need to lengthen connections, make sure you attached heat sinks to the driver chips, and access the well documented DO firmware for your configuration. I am sure there are T5 specifics which others can help. I ordered my Archim 2 from Walmart for $99 (yes, Walmart).

Ok looks like i need some info. I got my archem2 board. Hooked power to it and it shows up on pc as com port 5. Load up chrome and drunken fw loader. Said no device found. I load up cura says device attached but wont load anything. Figured ok lets get a rambo drunken. Everything the same except a rambo board good to go works.
I am not familiar at all with the adchim2. Do i have to hit anything to get it to take fw? Did i get a bad one? Once i get the cables to hook the lcd up can i load it via sd card?

Did you follow the directions to turn on Experimental Web Features in Chrome?
I got alot of stuff working and am super happy. I got the archim2 board in 3 of my taz5s. I got one bltouch hooked up also 2 more on the way. The only issue i still have is updating via chrome browser only certain fw uploads. I just keep decreasing the number till one goes. I havent tried a manual load yet. Considering all that other stuff works i dont really care lol.
Drunken octopus is wonderful! Keeps my decade machines running like 2018 lol
