I got tired trying to figure out duet and klipper at the same time for my voron and just ordered a Rambo for my out of service Taz 5. But I was looking at so many different vendors on aliexpress trying to find the cheapest fast shipping so I don’t wait a month that I zoned out and ordered a Rambo 1.4 instead of 1.3. Can I get 1.4 running on a Taz 5 or not. I’m asking because I think I read somewhere that I won’t be able to get Taz 5 working on a 1.4 only Taz 6 and newer will work. Anyone know if this is true or not?
Hi. Found this from a quick search - RAMBo v1.3 vs v1.4 [TAZ6] - LulzBot TAZ - Lulzbot - basically “RAMBo v1.4 - The major difference over the previous version is the integrated LCD connector for Smart LCD Controllers. The EXT2 and SPI headers were re-arranged to remove the need for an adapter. This change is backwards compatible with firmware for previous versions of Rambo that normally utilize the RamboLCD.”
Also, by looking at the schematics from Reprap, you should get a good idea of what you’re up for - Rambo v1.4 - RepRap vs Rambo v1.3 - RepRap - from the quick look I had, they look damn near identical for the major components.
Just curious. Duet runs reprap, klipper is, well, klipper. What do you mean at the same time. I have a paneldue on my voron but still running klipper firmware.
I’m trying to get reprap going on my vcast idex with the duet 6hc with 3hc or mini 5+ with mini2 add. But burned both those by trying to move wires around while they were both still on. I know I’m a dumb ass. And klipper on octopus for my voron. The best succes I had with reprap is actually with the bigtreetech e3rrf with the idex add on. That’s what’s in there now and everything seems to be homing and moving heating correctly. I also had luck with taking the Ender idex config from that British guy that’s selling the Ender idex kits and just flashing that and only changing the bed size and drivers in vscode.oh and the screen type. Besides that I left it the way I downloaded and 95 percent was working the way it should have. But I really wanted duet on the IDEX since I had 3 boards. I’m down to one but I did find the duet wifi with duex add-on on eBay for 60 bucks and ordered that. And I know ratrig has the idex config for those two boards together on their Google drive.
I can’t get the steppers 6 to move at all. Not even hissing sound like there getting current. I flashed drunken octopus. Going to try just the regular firmware update trough cura
I figured it out. There was some short somewhere because once I moved the board they started working. Need to get back in that jumbled mess of a box and figure out where it’s making or not making contact
