So my taz 5 was working perfect and I finished a print a yesterday and when I went to do another print the thermal runaway alarm went off because the bed didn’t change its temperature. It just stayed at 26 degrees room temp and wouldn’t budge. I checked all the wires and I checked with a multimeter the the wires that come to the bed to make sure it’s getting 24v and it is. So the wiring and electricity is good. What caused my bed not to heat up. And can I just change the heat carteidge on the silicone pad or do I need to buy a new silicone heating pad?
You’d have to change the entire silicone heater. The heaters in them aren’t accessible to replace.
Have you checked the Main connector at the board? I have seen those connectors get charred, and not make good connection after being burned. Also check your Anderson plug right at the bed. Have seen the same from those as well.
Yeah I checked and it was getting power și the way to the bed. So what I did is I had an extra heating pad from my blv cube build that’s 24v 650w so I just glued that on top of the silicone and installed a Solid state relay and now it works with that.
