3.3v != 5v? bltouch

Hi all,

I struggled mightily getting my BLtouch to work with my Taz6 a while ago. It seemed to work for a short period and then retraction got “sluggish” and didn’t work properly. I gave up. Now I’m wondering if it’s as simple as feeding the BLtouch the 5v it’s looking for, rather than the 3.3 it’s getting with the stock wiring, and maybe shortening up the stock wires a bit.

Has anyone else had issues powering a BLtouch off of 3.3v?

Well, I think the 3.3v or the long cable or a combination of both were the issue. I’m powering the BLtouch off of a 5v pin now, and it seems to be working brilliantly. Total bummer I gave up on this printer for over a year for a very solvable problem.
